keeping my roads as well. I've found there are two main thoroughfares that my gamblers take to get to the other side of town where the casino is at, so it's pretty simple to scan those roads and get 'em as they shuffle along.


with neighbor visits, I've found it much quicker to find three gamblers to tap in neighbor towns with extensive roads... the ones who only have concrete and either no roads or a small strip where everyone gathers have been more difficult to find and/or tap. Just my 2 cents... your experience may vary :P

That's why I have my 1 street connected to the Squidport. The characters spread out on the Squidport but the invaders keep to the street.

A favorite quoted from said episode, your 100% right however, i've done this in the past mainly THOH and Xmas, but as i've expanded it simply becomes to difficult to place and replace roads with rivers, i dont use cement because cement is under some of my buildings as grass doesnt give it the right feel you know?

If they had a dirt road however..... the other issue is placing rivers on roads if you just try to pave rivers over the roads willy nilly every second tile will become a bridge,so its kinda frustrating.

Long term: i would do this if there was a 5th option or so, you have grass, cement, roads and rivers but each have a place, my 2nd town will adopt the "cement roads" idea but its too late for my main town, unless it becomes 100% necessary its simply too much work for a payoff that isnt up to par.

but if we ever get dirt roads the answer will be a gritty, in-your-face yes

The game takes too long to load while doing neighbor actions. I can't stand neighbors who don't have roads. I either have to skip them or spend an extra 2 minutes searching for the single road in their town. Might not be so bad if they moved the landing spot closer to roads but if there is even one other road in the town then all the gamblers could be at that one and would have to search for it.

I need to just delete them as friends.

About neighbourly visits and roads; I can see why big and/or well designed towns wouldn't want to change their town outlay just for an event. I'd rather enjoy looking at a nice town and spend a couple of seconds extra to find those wandering gamblers.

Then there are towns like my own: Almost an eyesore but practical. I keep a road strip or two next to my event area which I'll design a bit. This way neighbours have an easier way finding and tapping gamblers. My characters are far away from this area (Akira's 1h/She-She 4h/Railyard tasks) so visitors won't experience lag.

I do wish people would put their landing zone near a road. Got some neighbours who put Burns' Casino left top of the map and the roads are varying from middle of the map to right top/down. This gets pretty time consuming when visiting.

During the Terwilligers event visits were quick due to the enormous tap radius which would almost always hit 2 and sometimes 3 cloned Bobs'... However, I don't think EA will be too fond of implementing this mechanic again :roll:

I'm keeping my roads.

And, in my personal experience (in some of my neighbours towns that have the one strip of road set-up), with all of the most recent events the things we are supposed to tap often wander off of that one strip of road - and get caught up in the mishmash of buildings and decos - often behind them - making them difficult to find. And when they don't wander off that one strip - all the characters crowd the road and it's extremely difficult to tap anything - as they have already said in the above quote.

I will say, though - it seems to work quite well for one of my neighbours. But only that particular one. I always find what I'm looking for in their town really quickly. And for some reason their characters don't seem to congregate all on that one strip of road in the same place, and the things we are supposed to tap seem to stay on the road and not wander off.

So I'm guessing that for some people it works and some people it doesn't.

I'm not going to drop any neighbours over it. That is how they like their town (which is the most important thing) - and if it works for them then that's great! But I myself don't like it, and don't want to mess with my roads when it's been easy enough in my town (at least for me - and I'm hoping for my neighbours, as well) to find what we are supposed to be tapping - in this case the gamblers.

EDIT: When it comes down to it - do what works for you. Roads or no roads. What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another.

Don't know bout you but unless we also using the best and updated stuff to play tsto on if you only have a few road pieces and as much stuff and people in you're town as I do or more that's slowdown city.

I love to actually have the game run like the cartoon show version not the comic version.

I'll have an iPad pro and 100 meg internet soon so problem solved but then it still might look kinda silly with all of the characters combining Ina flood of Simpsons characters.

Roads would be better if you could place vehicles on them, also a bit of dirt road would be nice near the Cletus farm area :)

i cant bring myself to do this. My neighbors will just have to enjoy the hours Ive spent designing my town, when they search for gamblers to tap. :D

I agree with those who say searching neighbors' towns for a little stretch of road some place is a pain. Far easier to follow the road til I find what I need to tap.
