- Cuz 400 sp tiles isn't enough lol
- Please, go easy on those of us with spreadsheets. It's a very serious problem, and we can't help it. Just this morning I was explaining something to another player and before I knew it I had made a spreadsheet that calculates your revenue, factors in your multiplier, and models how your revenue will increase based on purchases of specific buildings, characters, and multiplier-increasing decorations. I didn't mean to. I have no use for it myself. But there it is, in all its colour-coded, data-validated, cell-protected glory.
As for the whole tapping thing - to each their own. Everyone should just play the way they want to and find like-minded friends. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun. Play however it's fun for you. But don't come on the forum whinging about everyone else doing it their way. That's just... well, rude and childish. As for whinging about people whinging, that's just meta. Or Inception-esque. Either way, there's no point to it (unless Tom Hardy's gonna show up, in which case, call me ASAP), so hush.
Now. Back to those spreadsheets, a much worthier topic... bren1960 wrote:

Haha!!! 8)
Need....MORE.... Tiles.....Tiles...Tiles....
I was actually relieved when I accidentally tapped my final tile.
I have to laugh about how some are so defensive on this thread.
Especially since there is thread after thread about "How to Tap"
It has nothing to do with Jr.High and being too cool ( But, Thank You  )
We are all members of this forum and both" sides of the coin "should be represented.
Personally, I am a great neighbor during events and even in the first month of " Tile-Frenzy." But in the downtime, not really worth time and energy. Thankfully, my "neighbors" are on the same page.- I had a neighbor delete me. He post on here occasionally. I find it odd as i visit everyday, and tapped higher payout buildings. He did not have the stage, 6 farm thing when I would visit, and saw a tile once. Yet I would visit and tap. I know he reads the forum but would not tap my tile, chan. 6 or farm. I guess he did me a favor actually. :)
- Another spreadsheet user here. But mine was started to figure out how to maximize my Conform o meter at lower levels when money is an issue. Now I have a page keeping track of the characters I have, (I count off when I'm assigning tasks. helps to know what number I have to count up to) A page listing all the buildings and their payouts which lead to how much I should make in the run of a day, a page with all the land costs, a page with all the premiums and their pros so I could figure out the best way to spend my donuts... And I admit it, I am a spreadsheet loving nerd. And damn proud of it.
And for Halloween, I too was keeping track of who visits. JUST who visits. I didn't care what they tapped, so long as they showed up. People who didn't visit got deleted. So I could replace them with people who would visit. I now do keep track of those who tap my Tile and the big 3, but in my case, it is so I can return the favour. I firmly believe in Karma and if one of my neighbours takes the time to tap those things, then I want to pay it back.
This is how I play my game. There's lots of data for this game and I use it like one would use a walkthrough or a guide for any other game. I put the data in a spreadsheet because I find it easier to examine that way. I guess I kind of take it seriously. But I consider it as a way to maximize my enjoyment. And I have played this game every day for the last year. I now have 2 games. I'm pretty much hooked. Might as well be honest about it. - Heh, my neighbors are lucky if I visit them once every 24 hours. I have
Some fairly tight requirements to remain a neighbor of mine but what is
tapped is not one of them. Don't have time for the spreadsheet, but I can
see its use.
I still wish I could manage neighbors in game.
Cheers!

For those who don't get the spreadsheets, just consider it like any other hobby. Those of us who use spreadsheets find them relaxing and enjoyable. People make time for things they enjoy.
My spreadsheet isn't as detailed as some others and was created mainly to speed up my game play. I keep track of where everyone put their farm, stage, Channel 6 and if they have a tile or not. The buildings and tiles that are kept up for neighbors to tap are highlighted in yellow. I check my spreadsheet while the neighborhood loads and instantly know where I need to go in the neighborhood, whether it be to one of the 'Big 4' or just tap anything that looks good. I keep a print out with me as I play the game and make notes, then update once a week to reflect lost tiles and redesigned towns. I don't care what people do and don't tap in my town (one of my oldest neighbors faithfully taps the same brown houses every single day), but I know others do and the spreadsheet makes it easier for both of us to be happy with the game -- they get the right buildings tapped and I get in and back out quickly.
I also make a note on my printout when someone visits me and then include that information when I update the spreadsheet at the end of the week. If I feel like I need to cut back from 100 neighbors because life is getting busy or I'm contacted by a forum member looking for new friends, I definitely know who has and hasn't been around for the past several weeks and can cut accordingly. My brain ain't never gonna remember if it was bobbyjohn6789 or bobbyjoe2359 who tapped last week without some sort of assistance.AmandaElwood wrote:

^This would be the reason I would have a spreadsheet. Currently, I just don't want to use my time to get one started.Adamcayce wrote:

THAT is too funny!!
Spreadsheets?!?! :D I cannot even fathom having time for all that. ( or the desire)
Many of us do have spreadsheets. Someone just sent me one by email. This is GAME- you play to win.
How exactly do you win???
I am intrigued....jesslynco wrote:
HOLY #%^! Too many to quote.
Love the thread. The fact that there's a tutorial on visiting friends just baffled me. Tap what you want or don't. It's cool. Cu at next event, we'll meet up, hang out. Ugly sweater party?
Oh, but don't tap my houses, kwik-e-mart...
I am SO IN on the ugly sweater party!!!! :D
