- Just my two cents ... Maybe offer them but don't "unlock" them until the final level? Maybe even add a special "Quest" to that level ... Something that would take a lot of effort for each "discontinued" item. I don't favor restricting all the little gewgaws to donuts, but you could put the imaginary dollar amount high. That decision is obviously not mine to make, but just an opinion.
It takes a certain amount of loyalty to the game (and a truckload of tapping!) to get to the top level. so it might be a decent compromise. Some of us simply didn't have the technology to play until recently. So we could compromise -- Those who arrive late have to work A LOT harder if they really want something. Vintage items cost more in real life, but we have the option to pay a slew of money if we want them.
Or not. lawsmar wrote:
i dont think they should, they need to reward the long term players.
The best way to reward long term players is to re-release old items for donuts... This way new players pay to keep the game going!wkhslax21 wrote:

so i have noticed alot have the nighthawk diner the mapple store the pub and some others i can't think of off the top of my head but were they bought with donuts or cash and since alot of people have started this game a year later like myself i think EA should release these again or when were they available....i hate how marge has the task but there is no way of getting them again.. should EA release these buildings again for newer players
absolutely not. you missed those items, end of story. I'd love the Mapple Store. I started playing after it was available. Case closed.
Thank you EA executive for enlightening us
you are WELCOME. :mrgreen:HCoinslot wrote:
Did you say nighthawk diner? That was release like 90 days ago. WTH, at least get through the whole game before complaining about not having old items...
I like the exclusivity. I like looking at someone's town and figuring out how long they have been playing. The first event I got something for was * Pat's, so there is plenty I missed out on and would love to get, but I'd rather not be able to.
Then don't buy them when they becomes available again, and your problem is solved. Some of us other players would like to buy the items to enjoy our game even more, and at the same time contribute to the developers.
As for your other argument, looking at others SF's to see how long they have played, what kind of crap is that? Do you think many new players even have friends playing for that long? No, they haven't, simply because the veterans have filled out their neighbourhood a long time ago, or aren't really that interested in new neighbours. And if they did, it's not like players look at an old unique item and think: "Wow, what a cool dude/great girl, owning those items. I'm so lucky I'm his/her friend".
No one in this game rank the players by what items they have, even though some clearly believe so.
EDIT: By the way, it IS possible to become max level in 90 days of dedicated playing. Just so you know...- I honestly can't tell how long someone has played just by seeing that they have lots of old stuff. I can tell they were here for a previous Halloween, but other than that, all I know from looking at existing SFs that do NOT have unfamiliar halloween objects is that they've been here longer than me.
The only accurate way i have of knowing how long someone has been around is shown in their join-date. :) - Im glad some of the characters were brought back, when i started Fat tony wasnt available already lol
Wish i could get the itchy and scratchy balloons and the duff blimp though - To all of you selfish people who think that your owed something for playing longer, your all a bunch a whiney b*****s. You need to stop thinking that your so important, and the fact that you want to hold limited items over others is really sad.
Your reward that you feel entitled to is this,
You get to have it longer.
Your friends can be jellous they couldn't get when you did.
What you got for free might be re-released for money or donuts.
I hope they re-release everything if just to hear you cry about it, it makes me laugh. Nobody cares about you, they don't even know you, get over yourself.
As far as re-released items I'd like to be able to buy a second cool brown house among other things. LuciiTigger14 wrote:
My theory on what they're planning on doing is during seasonal events, they'll release the previous years items for donuts, as well as have new stuff to earn. So next year, we probably won't see the Bad Dream House, or Bart Raven etc (with the exception of the cemeteries, I think they'll probably come back every year). But we will most likely see the Victorian UFO, and the pumpkin house etc for donuts.
I like that they give everyone a second chance to get items they may have missed, and I don't see a problem with it. I think there would only be a problem if they keep bringing back the same items every year, because then people will stop rushing to buy donuts because they know the item will just be back next year anyway.
It's not a bad theory, and you might actually be correct. BUT, I'm not sure there would really be a big problem if EA brought back the same items every year. I actually believe that most players don't play this game for more than a year. This would mean that each year, it would probably be mostly new players buying large amounts of donuts to get the items they missed out on.
Most likely it'll just be forumpeople that keeps playing this game for longer than a year or two, so this forum will always be skewed on whether to bring every old item back or not, each corresponding season.- No way. Why should new players get all the same buildings as someone who has been playing so much longer? I get so jealous whenever i see the Itchy and Scratchy balloons in my friends town because i REALLY want them, but i wasn't playing it at that time so understand.
The whole point of limited items is that once they are gone, they are gone. You need to be playing at that time to get them. marco_rosa833 wrote:

NOW, that they've been made available worldwide, I like to think that it would be far less likely that we see them available again next year. I'd like to think we'll have all new items to work with next year.
From my experience, most videogames re-release event items sooner or later. The reason is that it takes little effort and is easy money. Also, there aren't that many senior players to please as you'd think. A lot of people move on. The current players are all "new".
I would not be surprised if EA continues to re-release items. The problem is that episode specific tie-ins make no sense to re-release outside of their theme so that is less likely. Things like Mapple Store are definitely going to be re-released.
Gotta say, I don't like your answer, but it makes total sense. I can't argue that angle.
