- Im tempted to do the same and follow a springfield map or something.
- I'm waiting till I buy up all the land to do that.
- I think I'm gonna do a complete redesign for the first time as well. It seems pretty daunting, especially thinking about all the time needed to store decorations. :P
I think it's best to start at the beach/mountain area and sprawl out and maybe split your springfield into areas (eg. poshy restaurants, houses, forest, etc) Adamcayce wrote:
I'm terrible at designing. I can't even dress myself properly. Oh we'll that's life.
The struggle is real ahaha :P
But seriously I've said I was going to redesign my town like a billion times but I never get around to it...a few times I've put a couple things away and changed my mind right away like 'nope, that ain't happenin' and put everything back haha. Maybe one day if they change the way you can move stuff around...but good luck if you do decide to go through with it!Ditsy6 wrote:
Nope....my town looks horrible right now hahaha :^P
Um, buy ALL the land
Move sections, one at a time by storing. For example, if you want to move the elementary school, store it, Willie's Shack, the bus and all of the stuff that goes with it.
Have a landing area all clear.
Replant everything one at a time.
Take your time.
Go to Springfield Showcase and look at the designs.
Good luck.Adamcayce wrote:

You need help.
I can't believe you are in the medical profession.
Stalking my posts is really creepy.Pull_Up_A_Chair wrote:

After seeing some towns others have I realize mine looks like crap so I'm tearing it down to try to make it look a little better. Any suggestions on how to do this?
I did that once, a long time ago. I stored all the decorations, put all the buildings in a corner and went to town (literally). I have a folder of screengrabs of some elements from my town that I like so I can move/rebuild/improve.
I'll never do a full rebuild again, so I just pack up certain pieces that I want to work on. I generally have some idea in my head before I get going, but I find that getting lit really helps too  - Make areas such as, residential, business, municipal, rural, or whatever groupings make sense to you, and use water and roads to sketch out a rough plan. Then fill in.
If in the process you make a building setup you like but find you need to move it to a different area (and have $ to spare) you can leave all the "buyables" where they are and just move the things you can't buy. This way you can more easily copy the design and at the same time rack up some XP buying new stuff. Then you sell the stuff from the old location.
If you are moving a series of items - like a row of fences - and get out of order (so that you end up tapping first through a cycle of everything in a radius of the thing you want), exit edit mode, move to a different location, enter edit mode, move/select a couple if things, exit edit mode, then go back to the series of things you were trying to move/select.
I can't think of anything more that might help; it's just not going to be that easy so you should only do it if you enjoy this kind of thing. :-)
