Those of us who have towns that give you that kind of earning have the game crash if you do it while we are playing. Go in once, get your tap boosted by $10 to $60 and then go on.spiffshine wrote:

Has this been previously discussed? This is the first I've seen that neighbors visiting your town can cause connectivity issues.
Personally, I have never seen a connection between crashes and neighbors visiting.
Yes, it has been discussed.
I have been saying it over and over. Others have said it as well (can't remember who). We've all said that we feel that this is causing crashing. Others have said it because as soon as you go back to your town? You see handshakes indicating people have been there.
This is not breaking news, folks.
It is why I've kept my friends list so low and I make sure that all my friends are at the same level. It keeps down on the number of people trying to do this bonus thing and keeps my town more stable. I know some of my friends do it but the percentage is fairly low.- I looked through those other threads and didn't see much about the handshake end - I just noticed this morning I got $522 each from handshakes on my Hibbert Family Practice and Town Hall.

It's been mentioned in several threads. I think it's one of the reasons MoopsDude quit, since before he quit he had a huge shrub sign telling people to knock it off. And he posted more than once against it.
Personally, during Xmas I would notice a sudden freeze, see something like Simpsons or Brown House get a handshake, then a crash. And then about 5 - 10 minutes before I could get in. I purged everyone on my friends list who posted about doing this (except you) and my stability went up. And when I had a crash I could go right back in.
Occasionally I notice this occurring. I'll take the time to visit other towns a couple times, and make note of which ones are showing signs of large cash infusions, and delete them. Stability goes back up.
Don't be so quick to judge people who have a sudden land grab. I tried to tell MoopsDude this but he was so wound up he wouldn't listen. Some of us (myself included) can't stand to have bits of land jutting out and buy land in rows. I save my money for a week or longer and then buy it all at once. It is not from "cheating" or a friends bonus. It's from adding up how much I need and waiting till I have it. My town generates 100K a day in regular play, I can buy an entire row of land within 10 days.
I'm just saying, sometimes people who "show signs of large cash infusions" are just really OCD and buy everything at once.lissarv68 wrote:

I'm a bit more selective than that.
But today I dropped a level 13 who went from just a few squares and buildings to at least 1/4 of land and a monster blue house farm since the update.
I see such growth primarily among new players. The long time players seem to understand that going slow makes the game interesting longer. So it takes 5 days to save for Burns Manor. It's not like here is another update coming out every few days.dcline414 wrote:

Thanks for not deleting me. :) I was confused for a minute because your name in the game doesn't match your name here, but I finally figured it out.
I don't actually do the bonus thing anymore because it's so time consuming and the money is unnecessary. I was mostly just curious about how it worked, since it initially seemed so random. I have plenty of cash now, and got too frustrated with crashing while visiting friends. Now it doesn't bother me when the game crashes, and I don't have to carve out a solid hour to visit everyone at once.
Ironically, I was inspired to up my premium item bonus when I found out it would help my friends, but I had no idea that others were trying to fend off neighbors who were repeatedly entering/exiting. I got my bonus up to around 27% but I have no idea how much that is worth to my friends.
I liked your design of the town square. :D
I got my premium stuff knowing the bonus didn't work. I either thought it was nice looking, or would be interesting. Kind of a mixed bag. Kearney and Duff Man are dull, the volcano ugly. Hank Scorpio and Moleman each have tasks that make me laugh at times. And it is fun to fire the laser at people going past Lard Lad.- PchorsedocSeasoned NewcomerDcline- I just wanted to say that the only town I ever crashed in was yours when I did the 4 taps on public buildings. I had successfully done it before in your town too. So I just vandalize/mop 3 out of 4 now.
And I must be lucky because while I can sometimes tell that friends are visiting (game gets laggy and then handshakes appear) - this doesn't always affect me at all. Often I am in the building menu moving stuff around and then notice someone visited. dcline414 wrote:

That's no good! How recently was this? I got rid of about 15 houses and probably two dozen fence sections last week. I'm planning on storing some trees and getting rid of a few more houses in the near future too, if it doesn't get better.
3 out of 4 taps.
4 taps.
Perhaps the crashing is being caused by cheating the system to get 4 taps while everybody else gets 3? I'm just saying.- I think it a case of everthing everyone doing with their friends which is adding to the crashing. With everyone knowing how to "get the best from the game" it obv hurting the game at the same time :( Also i think when the snow goes that might help
- petergeenenNew SpectatorMe and dcline414 just performed a test.
Here's what we did.
I entered and re-enterd dcline's town for five minutes. In the mean time he scrolled through his town doing the usual stuff. In five minutes I entered his town about 45 times.
Then we switched. Again five minutes. During that time I collected from several buildings. I assigned new jobs for 7 characters. I moved a few trees and put down a new road.
Finaly, we entered each other's town for another five minutes.
On both sides there were no problems. No extra lag. No crashes. Dcline even switched to cellular to test at a lower connection speed.
I'm sorry, but in my opinion the friend-visit does not cause problems.
This does not mean I'm going to do this again and again, I don't need the money anyway. But condemning people who want to do this is just wrong. Let everyone play the way they want. - PchorsedocSeasoned Newcomer

It was during the Xmas coin time, before we got the mystery stockings. I had also done it successfully in other towns but now I don't bother. It may happen because of the glitch that allows the 4th tap and not anything to do with your town.
when the game is stable it's very smooth for me and for visiting friends. I think the major blame is the servers somehow.
