GIVE US THE OPTION TO CHOOSE OUR TYRES

We need to be able to choose the tyres we want to use and in which order to use them.

When doing clubs or competitive esport style clubs, we need to be able to just choose our tyres.

When we do these clubs or comps, many people practice the stages, which makes the shakedown to get an extra set of tyres pretty

Pointless as most just slowly drive through the shakedown to protect tyres and car damage.

But the main reason we need to be able to just choose our own tyre combination is, this week I am doing a club which has three loops

Of stages and the stage pattern means you would want to use a tyre combination of one set of mediums and two sets of softs, with the first loop of stages being completed on medium tyres, then two loops of stages done on soft tyres, but this is not possible to achieve.

If you do a shakedown on softs to get your 2 sets of soft tyres you cannot start the rally on mediums as you loose your soft tyres you did the shakedown on.

So we either need to be able to choose our compound of tyres from the amount of tyres sets allowed per rally stages and services available in said rally.

Or we need to be able to choose which set of tyres we are doing the shakedown  for, I.e run on mediums so we can start the rally on mediums but get a set of softs from the shakedown.

Or no matter what tyres we run shakedown on and what tyres compound we collect from said shakedown,  we can then change tyres to

Whichever compound we wish to run the first stages on without losing a tyre set at the start of a rally.

Also as a lot of people have mentioned,  when we remove tyres at a service they should be kept in our tyre quota as worn tyres just incase we need to reuse them.

  • @Nine9Red Yes I agree with all of this, there needs to be more flexibility with tyre choice and the option of reusing old tyres.
  • Being able to choose your extra tire I think would be easy to implement. Also I think your used tires disappearing is just a bug because they show up in your 'list' of tires until you start the next stage then they just disappear.

I have a 'real' rally my friend setup with 19 stages and we only get 3 sets of tires total? I think the whole tire system needs a look at.

  • we should just get a tire allocation of our choice at the beginning of the race.

Also, there's not enough tire life to get through a 22 stage rally with only 3 sets of tires.

    Hey there,

Thank you all for sharing your suggestions. I have reported your feedback to the Team.

  • Fully agree, sometimes I don't want to use the current shakedown tyre but don't want to lose it as well as I need it for the next loop probably.

Also having the game decide the tyre choices for us is very restrictive for no reason, we really should have the option to set the tyre options in clubs at least.

  • @EA_Groguet Pleasse report again, because nothing changed. We can not change from soft to medium and reused the old medium set after ... This is not normal. We should be allowed to use tyres like we want.
  • I agree the limited Tyre options is one of the things that limit my enjoyment of this game. Especially if the game is going to be updated each year and not a new game I would hope improving this aspect would come some time soon.

The previous developers games weren't perfect but the tyre options in that game were so much better.

Having to choose what amounts of hard, soft and rain tyres (or even snow for some rallies) you brought meant you had to consider the surface abrasiveness, length of stages and the weather. Opening up career team upgrade importance for meteorolgists and perhaps you could add stage surface quality information.

Then having to choose if you take 6 tyres and therefore have more weight but can rotate tyres for fresher rubber.

On mixed weather loops having the dilemma of which compound will be the best compromise.

Being able to mix and match, cross fit and all other patterns in the hope it gives the best outcome.
Saving some fresher tyres for the power stage. Reusing older tyres either to cover damage, punctures or if you've just been too heavy.

I would like to know a little more about how worn a tyre is, maybe a percentage is a little too much detail but something in between.

Anyway I hope this aspect of the game gets a little love in the near future.
