Direct X Error Hung (FROSTBITE IS CAUSING THIS)

***For everyone that is having this issue. Please continue spamming this post until EA fixes this***

There is not "fix" or "workaround" to make this issue go away permanently.

I have continuously gotten the Direct X error hung message. I cant even play a single game without the crash. This started with the redesec update. I have followed all the instructions from the forms such as Updating drivers, repairing game files, clean booting, updating windows, dropping all my settings to low. Disabling oc and expo, updating bios, reverting to old drivers, reverting windows, playing in Fullscreen, etc. (I have a almost a 3 page file of "fixes" Ive tried)

I ran all my crash dump files from the BF6 folder into windbg and get the same message.

 0x887A0006 (DXGI_DEVICE_HUNG)
Stack trace: mostly inside bf6!ffxFsr2ResourceIsNull (FSR2 calls in Frostbite)

The Frostbite engine is sending a command to run FSR2 and its crashing peoples system, throwing directx errors out to everyone.

Instead of fixing a  game breaking bug that hinders thousands across all platforms from even playing the game you decide to add in bot game modes and make challenges easier. Kind of a slap in the face to your community that just want to play the game.

Please fix this.

  • For everyone having this issue, please keep this thread active until EA fixes it. There is no permanent fix or workaround for this problem. I keep getting the DirectX error 0x887A0006 (DXGI_DEVICE_HUNG) and can’t even play a single game without it crashing. This started after the Redesec update. I’ve tried everything suggested across the forums updating and rolling back GPU drivers, repairing game files, clean booting Windows, updating BIOS, disabling overclocking and EXPO, lowering all graphics settings, reinstalling and reverting Windows, and trying every display mode possible. Nothing helps. After analyzing the crash dumps in WinDbg, every single one points to “bf6!ffxFsr2ResourceIsNull,” showing that Frostbite’s FSR2 implementation is causing the GPU to hang. Instead of fixing this game-breaking bug that prevents thousands of players from finishing a match, EA is focusing on adding bot modes and easier challenges, which feels like a slap in the face to the community that just wants to play.
