Can't Play with Friends

I have tried everything I could think of, and I cannot manage to get on the same server as my partner. We are even on the same Wi-Fi. I have repaired the game multiple times and reinstalled. Tried with steam and EA app, as well as both open at once. It always fails to connect and then says that they joined the party, then they hit a loading screen, it says they left the party, and then they get an error popup that says they cant connect to the server, or any server for that matter. After trying to join a party and failing it wont work until they completely restart their computer. Restarting the game does not fix it either. This has been an issue since we installed the game about a week ago.

 In addition, right now I think the servers may be down because now we can't even play separately, it just wont connect at all.
