Skate Doesn't Work On Steam

(Uh, so, my original post on this was removed for some reason. Let's try this again. I just want to play on Steam ffs!)

When I launch the game on Steam, the Skate logo shows up, but then the window becomes unresponsive and then it gives me a "skate. has stopped working" message box. Then, when I go to verify the integrity of the files, I end up getting a message saying "3 files failed to validate and will be reacquired." However, it seems like those 3 files never seem to be reacquired as the same message appears every time I verify the integrity of the files, which leads to the game always crashing upon startup.

A fresh install of the game doesn't seem to resolve anything. Wiping my PC of any Skate related files doesn't seem to resolve anything either. The game on both the EA App & the Epic Games Launcher works completely fine btw.

My Steam client is up-to-date. My Windows 10 is up-to-date. My NVIDIA graphics drivers are up-to-date. Secure Boot is enabled on my PC. Not sure what I could be doing wrong.
