[AA] Critter Hunter: Go Fishing with Buddy only works with household members

This is also happening for me on Xbox Series X with all content installed. My Sim is in a solo household and though I'm selecting Go fishing with and Invite to go fishing it's not checking off. I've tried many many times but it's not working.

Hello, whoever reads this.

During the second part of the Critter Hunter aspiration, my Sim must fish with a "buddy". That step won't complete for me. Right now, I'm re-installing the game in the hopes it will help somehow. No matter if I have my Sim join an already fishing Sim or invite a Sim to come fish with mine, it just won't complete for any of my Sims. Please help.

There has been some issues with doing this. Try doing it with a household member and see if that helps.

I thought I heard that this is done via archery? Like level 4 to archery bowfishing with buddy, but maybe I am wrong.

Same! I've been stuck on this for days and finally decided to hit the forum. I ended up just cheat adding a sim to my single sim household and bam, yep, it works. I had tried over and over with my sim's friends and strangers to no avail. 

I have no mods installed, Mac, only testing cheats enabled 

i only have 2 sims w current family.  one is very much outdoors, the other is pure homebody.  i have used 2-3 diff friends, either they were fishing and i joined or i started and invited, and the Aspiration wouldn't trigger.  i traveled to a nonhome lot, to see if that mattered, and still same issue.  Reporting and Voting this as a bug.  i'll attempt to bring my wife fishing when return home (per workaround suggestions)... she's not going to like it.
