[AA] Getaway payments on residential lots are miscalculated
Issue Description:
When a Sim hosts a getaway on a residential lot (instead of a Custom Venue lot), the payment system appears to miscalculate earnings. The game reports a certain number of Sims attending, but the daily payment is significantly lower than expected based on the lot value and number of attendees. Additionally, popup messages sometimes claim "some Sims left" when no Sims actually left, resulting in lower payments. Payments can be inconsistent day-to-day even when attendance appears unchanged.
Specific observations from the player:
- Lot value: §17,117
- Getaway duration: 6 days
- Reported attendees: 10 Sims
- Actual daily earnings: Only §123 per day (on days with full attendance)
- Some days earned less because popup claimed Sims left — but no Sims actually left
- Popup message said 41 but was paid §42 because "some Sims left"
- Possible explanation: The popup may be incorrectly counting or referring to staff who are still part of the getaway but only come at certain times to clean
Expected Behavior:
Payment for hosting a getaway should be calculated based on:
- Number of attending Sims (guests)
- Lot value or quality
- Getaway duration
There should be a clear, consistent formula or percentage disclosed to players. If the formula is based on lot value, a §17,117 lot hosting 10 Sims for 6 days should generate significantly more than §123 per day (approximately 0.7% of lot value per day).
The popup messages about Sims leaving should accurately reflect actual guest departures, not miscount staff or trigger false reductions.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Own a residential lot (value approximately §17,117).
- Use the phone > Social app > Plan a Getaway .
- Set the getaway to take place on the residential lot (not a Custom Venue).
- Set duration to 6 days.
- Ensure the getaway shows 10 Sims attending.
- Host the getaway and observe daily payments.
- Compare reported attendee counts to actual Sims present on the lot.
Actual Result:
- Daily payment is only §123 even with 10 Sims reportedly attending.
- Popup messages sometimes claim Sims left, reducing payment, but no Sims actually departed.
- Potential confusion: The popup is counting staff (cleaners, etc.) as "Sims" — staff are part of the getaway but only appear at certain times . When staff leave after their shift, the system may incorrectly treat this as a guest leaving and reduce payment.
- Payments are inconsistent day-to-day without corresponding changes in actual guest attendance.
Additional Notes:
- Getaways can be scheduled on existing Lot types, including residential lots .
- Roles in getaways can include "Staff" with tasks like Clean . Staff are not guests and should not affect guest count or payment calculations.
- The game's payment calculation system may be incorrectly counting all assigned Roles (including staff) as paying guests, then deducting payment when those role-filling Sims leave the lot temporarily.
- The game might be counting the §123 per day (approximately §738 total for 6 days) per Sim but only paying for 1 Sim. So the total would be §7380 total for 10 Sims which is more reasonable.
- The base payment percentage for residential lot getaways is not documented in official guides , suggesting either:
- The feature is undertested, or
- The payment formula is not functioning as designed
Impact:
Significant gameplay impact. Hosting a getaway on a residential lot is currently not financially viable. A §17,117 lot generating only §123 per day (approximately §738 total for 6 days) represents a tiny fraction of the lot value. Players cannot recoup costs or earn reasonable income from hosting getaways on residential lots. The misleading popup messages about Sims leaving add confusion and frustration. This undermines the entire "host a getaway" feature for players who do not want to build dedicated Custom Venue lots.
