do you have any Sims in an active career ? This error code was reported before but the console ones tend to be more generic.
Do you have the issue for all families or just a specific one ?
crinrict There is a Sim in the current household in the Detective career. I tried loading in to an unplayed household and that actually works. So I think it is just the one household. I’ve uninstalled the game and reinstalled, and it was still doing the same thing. There are no other save files that I have, just the current one.

Try inviting the Sim that's in the detective career over and see if you can load the Sim afterwards.
Like: Load a family that knows the Sim, invite Sim.
crinrict It works now. I’ve managed to quit the Sim’s detective career through the inviting suggestion you made, now that the Sim is unemployed I’ve switched over to that household and now I'm not getting the error message or being booted back to the residential worlds. Must be an active careers bug.
