Sims start to perform musical numbers when assigned to painting (provided Acting skill allows Perform Musical Number). Clearing cache has no effect, only way to prevent so far has been reducing the Acting skill below threshold via testing cheats.

To specify, they don't stop painting, but do not progress with the painting, they just sing and dance at the easel, brush in hand.
Yes! This started happening to me recently, too!
It's not just painting. Cooking as well. First they break into autonomous acting practice at mirrors or with each other all the time, then when their acting skill is higher they break into autonomous musical numbers in the middle of painting or cooking and then the other Sims in the family stop to watch them. It's driving me insane! 😅 I thought it was just my game borked because I'm using a family I rescued from my previous save which had the "lots disappearing when traveling" bug, so I thought maybe the family was hosed, but I'm relieved to see I'm not alone!!!
Repairing the game, clearing cache do nothing to stop this behavior.
I don't have any mods or CC and I have all the packs and this is a new save (just with a a previously used family and lot from a prior save.)
Exactly, same with cooking. The cooking just pauses then resumes when the song is done.

Had this happen today while sim was cooking as well, so confirming above.
