I found on reddit the explanation for my problem - all of my classes were cancelled: if you have the rack shoe or shoe sign on your lot, classes won't work. As soon as I selected: wear shoes inside, the classes worked.
Which is annoying cause I have them on all my lots and I would like Sims in my home to respect this rule (it is very basic where I come from not to wear shoes in the house). Hope a solution will be found.
