This happened to me too. What's worse is, other household members have a relationship with the Sim's astral projection. Resulting show the ghost version of the Sim in relationship panel.
After knew this issue, I just removed that mastery perk. It's useless, tho. Better I take my Sim to build the skill with never weary trait.
