[BH] Some rooms don't have outline/don't allow room type assignment

I've also noticed issues with some rooms not letting you select residential/public/employee only. I found that saving the entire lot to my library and placing it again allowed me to set room types for every room. Could be a short term workaround. 

I'm having the same problem currently on two public space rooms that can't be given a room type.

Edit: Went to the main menu then came back and it let me assign the two not working rooms correctly now.

I have the same problem. I think it happens when I add a fence. Sometimes not right away. I would leave it for a few minutes to work on smth else come back and notice that the menu is gone. I also have another bug where walls disappear.

So I just had this exact issue, I’ve been a week into running a business and expanded my apartment above my business a level and I wasn’t able to register my new rooms as residential while in live mode, and build/buy mode. I was able to fix this by going to manage worlds, clicking on my active household lot and clicking build/buy mode from my map instead of clicking play. All of my new rooms seem to have been giving me the option to select their category.

As soon as the fence next to my staircase met the wall, the room was no longer public and not assignable. But if I draw all but the last piece of fence, then draw 1 tile of fence in the middle of the room and pick it up and move it to where I want it, the room stays public.

(The first time this bugged, I had to entirely delete and redraw the room to get the outline back - possibly because I had left build mode then gone back in before deleting the fence? - but the second time just hitting undo brought it back. Neither time did I bother restarting.)

I have registered my business and made all areas "residential" or "Public" excepted the fenced yard.  Even when deleting the fence and making a wall, it doesn't count it as a room and doesn't give me the option.

I have tried removing the local thumb cache package, repairing the game, restarting the game, traveling to another lot and back, and going to world view and back.  I have no mods.

Playing with Hobbies and businesses new pack.  I have registered my business and made all areas "residential" or "Public" excepted the fenced yard.  Even when deleting the fence and making a wall, it doesn't count it as a room and doesn't give me the option.
