Hello, everyone! So, I've seen a couple of similar reports here and there about Build Mode not functioning/responding properly, and I've had some of those issues as well, so I thought it'd be better if I compiled everything in a list (which might help more players and, eventually, the Team working on bug fixes, because they're probably intertwined).
I play The Sims 4 on PC (Windows, gaming PC) and I do not own any CC or Mods. I have the majority of the DLC and expansions, though. The game, for the most part, works fine, but, in the last two-months or so, I have found a lot of issues while building and decorating, especially off of Manage Worlds, or while visiting/building without a family/Sim assigned to a lot (whether that'd be Residential or not, though it mostly happens on any community lot I place).
The list of bugs/issues include:
- not being able to delete objects, either with the delete tool or with the delete key on my keyboard;
- not being able to place some objects at all;
- grabbing an item from Build/Buy Mode, and it disappearing immediately after (which also correlates with the issue above);
- having loads of issues with the wallpapers: either nor being able to paint walls or, if I am capable of doing so, in a closed room, the intersecting walls will delete the wallpaper of one another, only being able to paint half of the room;
- the Lot Type randomly changing after I place the build (especially if it's from The Gallery, and it's a different Lot Type);
- sometimes when I am deleting an item, placing or painting a wall/half-wall some items will randomly be deleted or sent off to my Sims/household's inventory (the majority of times, those items are unrelated to what I'm placing or building);
- some of the stackable/customizable furniture pieces (for example, the modular shelving from both Dream Home Decorator and the Book Nook Kit), will sometimes randomly disappear, as well as some of the items placed on top of it;
- (unrelated, but...) some of the items, especially from the later Expansions and DLC, are not tagged properly (for example, the wall-plant from Lovestruck not being in the plant's category in Build Mode), which makes them hard to find in the catalog.
