I am having this exact issue!
I'm also playing on Windows 11 and using Direct X 11. I have all my mods removed and I've done a game repair.
I'm able to load to the main menu, but if I click on Resume Game, it will not load my current houshold and crashes back to the desktop. I am able to click on Load Game and select a save to enter, but once I'm on the screen where I can pick which lot to load, none of the lots will actually load and it again crashes entirely back to the computer's desktop.
When loading rental lots, it's returning an error message that says the game has reached a "break point", If I can reproduce this result, I will take a screenshot of it an upload it.
I tried a clean game, but I am getting the same outcome. I can get to a neighbourhood/world, but I can't load any individual lots.
At this point, my game is entirely unplayable. This is ridiculous. Every time EA puts out an update, something breaks that can't be blamed on mods or custom content. This may be the worst one yet.
Bluebellflora I know what a clean game is. This isn't my first rodeo. I have no idea what anyone else is doing, but when I say clean game, I mean a brand new fresh install with no mods, no custom content, no ANYTHING other than official DLCs.

No, the game installation is nothing to do with the Sims 4 folder. A clean game refers to the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder only, not the game installation. If you have tried a clean folder and still receiving the error then maybe your issue is a system issue? Have you posted in the PC tech forum? I believe "break point" is a Windows specific issue The Sims 4 Technical Issues - PC | EA Forums

Bluebellflora I tried a clean folder and that did nothing to fix the issue, which is why I uninstalled and did a full reinstall (which also didn't fix the problem). I still can't load rental lots, but at least non-rental lots load periodically now. I don't think it's a system issue, unless there is also a problem with the latest update of Windows 11 that installed earlier today. My GPU driver is up to date as of today as well. I will try your "clean folder" again and see how that goes. I've already cleared my game cache and deleted user settings again, so fingers crossed that it'll just work as intended next time around

genuinely the way the culture on these help forums has been since the beginning of the internet been "you must be soooooo stupid. you must be a dumb stupid baby who doesn't know how to play the game they've been playing since 2014, is that it?" is infuriating. anyway i also have this problem.

The game has been available even before 2014.
