After I place one item the next item I select won't place, it flips back to where it was previously, or is carries around by my mouse indefinitely. I found by clicking a different tool across the top like the eyedropper then going back to the select tool it will let me place another item, but only one. Then click on the eyedropper again and back to the select tool, for each item I need to move or place.

Hey, I'm having this too! I tried updating/reupdating/reinstalling my drivers and that seems to help TEMPORARILY. I'm also doing the savefile redo too. Best of luck :(
I'm trying to move the penthouse of a level 10 freelance photographer to a new game. But when I tried to place the home I got a tiny red "Missing Blueprint" message and nothing would place.
Of course there was one stray photo that I couldn't find so I had to move the sims to a new lot to get the entire house contents moved into the inventory to find it. I found that one tiny stray photo, deleted it, and assumed I'd be good to go.
In the process, I noticed that I had two of the Clickshot P10 Mirrorless Cameras in the household inventory too. Odd, because I thought I had only one in the photographer sim's inventory... But maybe not.
So I moved the sims back into the original lot to begin the tedious process of putting the house back together. Oddly, things were snapping back into position by themselves, exactly where they were before the move... For example, I tried setting down dining chairs before I found the table, and they grouped themselves as if the table was there?! Also I couldn't remember exactly where a planter went, so I set it down, but when I looked again it was in a different spot?!
Now to the cameras -- I placed an end table and set the camera on it. But it disappeared... So odd! So I set the second camera on the table. That one stayed... Hmmm. So I moved the table back into the inventory, and the camera came too. Just one camera.
So I placed the table and camera again, then exited the game, repaired, and reloaded. The camera and table were still in place, but the second camera was back in the inventory. And this particular lot still seems to have issues placing objects down properly, but it's not quite snapping into place as it was before...
I'll keep troubleshooting, but the oddities made me consider that perhaps this particular camera is tied to the black photos issue? I tried to find the right thread to post this under, but most black photo posts are a month or more old, and I didn't find any that mentioned the camera...

Same! I try to place the item and it disappears instead. I'm (sometimes) allowed to place 1 item, then none after that. I also can't change the color of anything, move, or delete objects. I have to restart the game to place/change/delete/move one item at a time. The undo/redo buttons also don't work, so build mode is basically useless right now. And gods forbid I accidentally manage to delete something, since that would mean restarting the game until it allows me to place that 1 item. It's kind of like a really sad lottery or game of chance lol
Ever since the latest update, whenever i try to put down new items in build mode, but whenever I select something, e.g. a crib it just automatically deselects and im not sure how to fix this so any suggestions are appreciated!!
Randomly I'm no longer able to place any objects in build mode. When I try and place anything it just disappears. Also, if I try to save and exit, it just loads endlessly and I end up having to force quit the game. Anyone know how to fix this?
I’m getting this on ps5. Objects I try to place just vanish when I try to place them.
So i’m trying to redo each lot/world in my legacy save. After placing a lot from the Gallery (tested both via map view and from within build mode), build mode breaks and I’m unable to place any items. I can pick objects up and they will follow my cursor, but clicking to place them does nothing and the object just snaps back to its original position. I can duplicated with the eyedrop, but it won’t place. Pressing H returns it to where it was before I picked it up. The only exception is if I delete something first. Then I can place ONE thing down before the bug triggers again. Once triggered, build mode stays broken for the entire session until I restart the game and place from the gallery again.
Steps I’ve already taken with no fix:
• Removed all mods/CC from the mods folder and disabled them through the game
• Repaired the game through the EA App
• Updated graphics drivers and Windows
• Restarted PC
• Tested on a brand new save file
• Tested with different lot types and gallery listings
• Deleted the localtbumbcache file
The issue consistently triggers after placing a lot from the Gallery and going through the placement process. Not a corrupted save issue since it happens on fresh saves too.

my game runs okay without mods, with mods its all slower and interactions take longer, simulation lag etc, and i get these kind of bugs too, bugs aren't tied to the pc specs, you can have a nasa pc and still get safe corruption cuz it has nothing to do with the hardware it runs on
i made a vanilla save and modded save with all buildings/modded things and backed it up so in case i get corruption, i can go back to the non-corrupted version
