After I place one item the next item I select won't place, it flips back to where it was previously, or is carries around by my mouse indefinitely. I found by clicking a different tool across the top like the eyedropper then going back to the select tool it will let me place another item, but only one. Then click on the eyedropper again and back to the select tool, for each item I need to move or place.

I have the same issue plus frequent infinite loadings when placing builds and the gallery seems slow. This is what I tried so far that did not fix it:
I play on windows 11. I think the issues started with the new life and death expansion pack, but I am not sure. I didn't play for a while.
I have started the sims again after i got the new life death expansion pack. I tried building a new world in a new save,-. But when I try to edit a lot, I can delete one item or place one item and then nothing anymore. It allows me to pick up an object but won't let me place it down or delete it again. In the past updating my grafics card often helped with build mode issues. It doesn't this time.
The issues keeps reapearing. Usually the game works when I start the game up but then the issues start soon after (So the first lot I can ususally edit, but none after). I'm also getting an endless loading screen after a while when placing a lot and need to stop and restart the game. I haven't tried gameplay yet, so don't know if there are any issues as well. Anyone knows how to fix this? Is the new pack the issue?
I wanted to build some houses. However I can't build anything anymore.... I updated my game today till latest version. It's the PC version, no cc or mods.
I started building at palamino junction (without a family living there, through manage worlds) and tried to bulldoze the lot to start fresh, didn't work. everything was still there. The sledgehammer lets me delete the first item or wall but after that nothing. It says there's nothing to delete
I tried putting an empty lot there, did make te lot empty but made the issue worse. As I discovered I also can't build anything. I started with a platform which I could place but after that I couldn't drag it to make it bigger or smaller.
I tried this in a new game at different lots and also on the lot with a sim. At one point the lot did get bulldozed but again after that nothing works.
So the issue is:
I can place or delete one thing and after that nothing works. I can delete 1 part of a wall and replace that with a new part, after that again nothing. See attachments with short videos.
Edit: this also applies to buy mode with items. Can place or delete 1 item and than nothing. If I sell the next item it's still in my hand
I created new family, moved them into ready house and I can delete only one furniture. The rest cannot be removed, neither via delete key on my keyboard, nor by placing the object onto sell icon.
Hey, I've gained an issue today that I have never seen before. When I open my save (which happens with no problems) I instantly click on build mode because I'm trying to extend my house. Once in build mode it allows me to place a couple of floors, however after 3-5 actions when I try to extend the platform it just doesn't work even though everything is within the limits and has a green outline. Furthermore, when I try to delete the floor I have just placed it makes the sound but nothing happens. I tried to sledgehammer other parts of the house, but again nothing got deleted. Once I went back to live mode, my mouse moved but it would not let me click on anything and when I made the game play, time was frozen and none of my sims moved. The options menu still works but when I try to exit the game nothing happens and I have to force quit (this is for both save and exit and just exit). I have cleared my cache, repaired the game in the ea app and still doesn't work. Anyone else with the same issue? (no mods or cc)
Just want to second this issue and say that it has started happening to me after the most recent Life & Death pre-release update on October 22nd. It was happening in both a vanilla save (that has never had CC and mods) and a couple modded saves.
Build/Buy mode is completely bugging out. Can’t place any objects, can’t delete, add flooring or walls. Then the game won’t save and it crashes.
