Can't switch between Sims

When I open my game, I’m able to play for about 10 seconds then when I try to switch between the sims in my household, I’m not able to unless I pause and unpause the game every time I want to switch sims, and when I try to speed up the game it resets the time when I go back to normal speed. 

I have a couple packs and kits like toddler stuff, tiny living, romantic garden, realm of magic, parenthood, growing together, get to work, and city living, as well  as the free kits, blooming rooms, desert luxe, holiday celebration 

and I’m on the 4th week of the grim reaper event

I unfortunately had to patch the game about 3 weeks ago as I got the license expired playing offline bug.  So I patched and everything was going fine.  Then after about a week of playing my long term family, I realized that I could not switch between sims or when I clicked to switch it would only do so if I saved.  Then coming back in it would let me switch but only for a little bit.  I do have mods only mcc, better build buy, ui cheats extension and autonomous pets and I made sure I updated my mods.  I found I could not play my main family which I do have more than 8 people in it, but I regularly play large families with no issues and had no issues playing offline before patching.  I thought maybe the family got corrupted.  For a while not long, I was able to exit game after saving and going back in would fix it for a bit, but every time I did it the time became shorter that I could play without it happening again.  

I started a new family, and it worked for about a day then the issue started again.  So I repaired game, deleted local thumbcache file, and removed mods, but still happened after a while of playing. I tried to play my long term big family afterwards and same problem came up.  So I decided to start with a new sims 4 folder yesterday.   I made a new family, added back in my tray, my saves, and mods folder and played all day yesterday no switching issues.  This morning I played the family I played yesterday and after 2 and a half hours it happened.  I exited and went back in and after 10 mins it happened again.  I can't keep starting new families playing for a day or so and then have the issue happen again.

Just wanted to add that I am having the exact same problem on MAC. I am not sure what triggers the freeze but once it occurs; I cannot switch sims, the game will not pause, and sims do not respond to actions. I cannot save either as it will continuously spin. The only way to exit the game is through force quit.

Also adding that I am having this exact issue on MAC also! Redownloaded sims for the first time in years about a month ago, been playing regularly with zero issues however I just introduced an infant to my save and it started doing the same thing (no mods or CC)

There are some packs that don't work, restaurant, parenthood, knitting... I even bought the Halloween Bundle three days ago and I can't find it to download it on the App, I have followed all of the instruction in the EA Help webpage, and started a new conversation with the subject, I will probably return it if this is not resolved, it is impossible to chat with someone and now I'm wondering, why did I buy this pack when so many others are not working. If it wasn't my favorite game I wouldn't be here, but this latest updates, since the DX11, have broken the game in many ways and they haven't been able to fix it.

Stopped issues where a held baby tries to perform an interaction that requires an adult to put them down, but the adult can't so it just spins in a loop.

Fixed in Patch 1.110.265/2.01
