When i click adopt the sim just picks uo the dog and puts it down, ive tried on different worlds, loaded games, and new games, different houses etc. so it dosent seem to be a mods issue, this started after the update today.

I’m sure u have to create ur pet in the create a sim that’s what I had to do coz I had the same thing, they just stood there I was confused

gosh, this is so embarassing honestly, considering how big EA is.
Even smaller Dev Studios are able to bring out a game that isnt one big bug and not destroy it with updates. Even the Sims modders are doing a better job than the EA people who make millions of us buying their buggy ....
im not willing to support this furthermore im not buying anything sims 4 related anymore.
they celebrate themselves for fixing 150 bugs or whatever, but add one that crashes a whole expansion pack. thats something that only EA is able to do LOL

the game will not let me adopt a pet. The sim just picks it up and puts back down.
I can not adopt a pet and when my pet passed away the urn completely disappeared and is no where on the lot. Very sad because I love having pets in sims
You should be able to adopt a dog or cat from the computer then a sim turns up with a pet crate and you can get to know the animal before deciding to adopt or not adopt. The computer should randomly offer you a list of available pets for adoption and you can select one or more to meet before adopting.
I wonder if this is related to the same bug that breaks the game if you select a pre made sim from CAS that then prevents you selecting a different sim or from placing lots etc...
Same problem on Mac. I thought it was an issue with my mods/cc. Tried adopting a pet probably 10 times and it’s like the game doesn’t register it. Also when a sim goes to pick up/hug the pet the sim freezes and won’t put the pet down or take any commands
Same problem. The dog plays in the waste and when I try to give the bath... nothing at all! he still stinks and the flies fly around him.
Same it's driving me mad I click adopt on a cat and it goes in the cue then my sim picks the cat up pauses and put the cat down repeatedly I'm on xbox series x, I can adopt dogs just not cats.
As I have now tired to open my save I cant adopt a pet. It would get stuck to the point where I have to restart the game. I have updated the game and file on Playstation I have the ps5. It started happening today I hope this can get fixed
Attempted adopt a dog, it allowed the adoption evaluation but it won't allow adoption. The sim will pick the dog up, but the sims will just stand there and will put the dog down.
