I'm having the same issue with the unwanted menu (just like your picture). I was hoping someone could tell me how to get it off of there!
Apparently the update triggered a help centre default. So go to Game Options--then Tutorial & Tips--then uncheck the Enable Help Center Icon & Controls Legend box--then Apply Changes.
