I have logged into the game and played both in build mode and live mode, but the main icon of the event is disabled and when I hoover over it with my mouse it just says "please wait and try again as the Gnomes try to fix the failure"
Try going to the game files and move the accountDataDB.package file to your desktop. Usually in past events removing this file to let a new one spawn fixed the issue. It worked for me this time as well.
