I agree but for me it's affecting all CC randomly, trust me i've tested it. Clothing, build/buy, face and body, makeup, genetics, hair, everything, it's all behaving the same: sometimes it will load the game, sometimes it won't. There's no specific rhyme or reason. Nothing to pinpoint.

Game launch after the second try. I have 7000+ mods and cc. It launched with all of it. I took out MCCC , RPO, UI cheats, and lotcore. I am nervous to close the game and try with those. Has anyone close the game and went back in?

luthienrising Thank you for your response.
I modified the Resource.cfg file in an attempt to control load order, specifically for a Korean translation package that needs to override the original English text from other mods.
The purpose was to ensure that the translation package would take priority and properly override the original content.
In particular, I tried to assign a higher priority to an Overrides folder by modifying Resource.cfg like this:
Priority 500
PackedFile *.package
PackedFile */*.package
PackedFile */*/*.package
PackedFile */*/*/*.package
PackedFile */*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile */*/*/*/*/*.packagePriority 1000
PackedFile Overrides/*.package
PackedFile Overrides/*/*.package
PackedFile Overrides/*/*/*.packageThis approach had worked for me in the past, but currently modifying Resource.cfg in this way often causes the game to fail to launch, so I reverted back to the default configuration.
Instead, I am currently trying to manage load order by renaming the folder (e.g., "zzz_Overrides") to push the translation package later in the load sequence.
Regarding your second question:
When testing in a newly generated user folder, I copied over my content by folders (not individual files), maintaining my usual folder structure (e.g., organized by creator for CAS CC).The issue still occurs when combining certain CC, even though each type works fine individually.
I have also uploaded my Mods and Tray folders, and I can share them via DM if needed.
Please let me know if you need any additional details or specific test cases.

Update (and my final one - I'm done struggling)
My mods work fine
My build buy CC work fine
My CAS cc is the problem for the game to read. I started with 4 individual files and got the error. I have tried every single suggested fix and it might work once and then it's a rinse repeat of errors (WITHOUT changing anything in my folder) I now have a large amount of CAS cc back in added in various ways. new folders / fresh download / in a folder or just loose in mods folder. No difference. My game loads with an error 3-4 times. On the 4th or 5th time it loads and everything is in my game. My game runs smoothly and no issues. If I close that and open again, back to error for 3 or 4 times. The CC is not broken otherwise it wouldn't load SOME of the time. I have now had the same batch of cc in for 24 hours and it's the same thing. 3-4 times of error then it loads.
I am not doing anymore trying this or that. The game should load the way it loaded on Monday just fine. The only thing that has changed is the changes from EA. And all I keep seeing is the CC bug is fixed. Something is wrong with how the game reads or loads CAS cc. Once it loads it works fine. if it was a CC problem it wouldn't load ever OR the cc wouldn't work in game.
Good luck EA, I'll see you when it's fixed.....or not.

At first, it was impossible to play with this error message. I ended up removing my mods temporarily and keeping only my CC. The game worked perfectly like that (yesterday). I didn’t touch anything afterwards. Today, it doesn’t work again. I tried the Luth method by renaming the folder "OLD USER FOLDER" to create a new one. First, I gradually copied my CCs into it by launching the game each time to test. It worked but at the end of the fourth attempt, I had the error message again. I feel like it’s very random.

SAME. So frustrating. double sigh.
misguidedintent I'm combining you into a topic on this issue. Please see my post to the other person in it!

I'm so confused.... After the patch, my game ran as normal with all of my mods/cc! Since yesterday, I have kept getting the error message, and it will not launch with my CC. I can only launch the game without CC. I haven't downloaded anything new. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps, but none of them have resolved the issue. What could have changed between then and now?
We should just be able to click play and enjoy the game. It should never be this difficult. sigh.
fii08xf52h8h Do you have CC in folders? If so, please try pulling the Mods folder out to see if the game launches. An all-black screen might be a version of this issue: Failed to launch error | EA Forums - 13264167
If that works, please try this set of steps. I don't know yet if it works for everybody, and I don't know yet if it stays working, but it has seen at least some good results so far if followed exactly:
- Rename the user folder - the one Mods is inside of. I do something like "THE SIMS 4 OLD FOLDER".
2. Start the game and exit to make a new user folder.
3. When copying mods/CC from the old Mods folder to the new Mods folder, don't copy/move folders. Make new Mods subfolders and copy only files.
If that works, it's an indication that it is the same issue. If so, please do let me know! Knowing more symptoms is very helpful info for other people and for the devs working to solve this.

I will give that a try. I’ve tried just about everything else 😭
