Failed to launch error/Fully Black Screen when using CC

I'm no programmer or anything, but given how inconsistent this all is also makes me wonder if there's some sort of test running in the background that sometimes fails for some reason, Mods+CC in the game or not. People are testing on many different computers with a clean slate, after the 50/50 method, no mods in the game etc. And sometimes the game is just not working now.

I don't know what happened but this definitely seems to be something that changed within the game on EA's end that is a total cr*pshoot whether your game loads or not 🤔

This. I have exhaustively done all the recommendations and above EA needs to downgrade this patch and fix their broken game that I have spent thousands on

I'm having this same problem! No rhyme or reason to what is good and what isn't! Sometimes the same exact package is good OR bad between game launches!

I'm experiencing the same. Tried all of the suggested fixes too. 50/50 isn't reliable, as a piece of cc can load fine once and then not the next time. 

Repair install only helps partly and resets once you exit EA or restart your computer. Resourceconfig file was not the issue. 

Tried a clean install too, and it only proved it wasn't a mod issue. I had no mods in place, and cc would still randomly crash things or not load the game. Someone suggested downgrading to dx9 in the game options, but this didn't work either. 

This is an issue on EAs end, not the modders or cc creators. 

Yep, dealing with the same issue too I put all my cc all my mods on my updated mods and nope it says failed to load. They’re gonna have to fix this issue Sims you’re about to lose me.

I currently don't have any mods installed at all, just cc, and I'm still getting the "Failed to Launch Game" message every time I try to run the game.

I get random game crashes like everyone, with absolutely random combination of mods. I found out a strange solution: it suddenly launches when I rename the files or folders which crashed the game last time. The meaningless renaming, just adding one more letter or smth like that, but it fixes my game. 🤷‍♀️

I found a weird workaround: I moved all my MOD folders out and then back in. The game launched and has worked several times in a row since. I’m not sure if this is a permanent fix, but I’m leaving this here in case it helps.
