I'm having the same issue. I have 11 rental properties and I live in one of the units. The only time it says I've successfully completed the landord event is if it happens in my own unit. It does not matter what the event is, if it is in one of the units I do not live in, I will get told I did not complete the event.
Additionally, I've noticed no matter what I do, even in 5 star units, my tenants keep revolting.

I own a 3 unit Residential Rental, 2 units are rented, I live in the 3rd unit. I receive a notification for one of the new events that came with For Rent but when I travel to the effected unit, either completing the tasks don't count towards the tasks, or they do but the event still comes up as failed.
example: one of my rental units is haunted. I travel to the unit, click on the Confront Ghost option, my sim interacts with the ghost, but the task still shows as not being completed.
OR
example: one of my units is breaking the garbage rule so I travel to the unit and pick up the trash and take out the trash, completing the tasks (and they do check off as complete) but then the event ends and I get a fail notification. With the haunted event, Exorcise Ghost will clear the task and ends the event but it also fails.
I also got the Cursed Book event in a different save file but I was never able to find the book.
I have the same issues with or without mods being enabled. I even tried deleting all my mods and starting a new save file but I still ran into the same issues.

It was working fine until the update before Life and Death released, but hasn't been fixed.
Sad thing is, until Businesses and Hobbies came out and the bug hit, it was my favorite pack.
I play on the playstation. My Sims is the landlord. Eventually a tenant issue will arise. "Water Leak" will occur. You immediately send the your landlord to fix it. As soon as they stop the issue it pops up "You have failed to address your tenant's concern, as a result your tenant rating dropped."

i'm puking in the rays... i play as the landlord for the FIRST time, travel to the tenant immediately after reporting the power damage and get the message that i don't care and the rating drops... what the hell?!?! so i can't complete the endeavor either.

Basically regarding my last post I was able to somewhat fix the residential rentals, one of my sims has a 5 star property owner aspiration and one of the things you need to do for it is to handle a maintenance event. I have done like 5-6 maintenance events and once the issue was fixed it still said that the issue was not addressed properly and my rating went down, just earlier I had a water leak event that I fixed fully and it still said that the event failed. Help please I don’t know what to do :(

It is absolutely unacceptable that more than a year has passed since the release of the For Rent expansion pack — one of the most expensive DLCs for The Sims 4 — and the critical bugs that affect core gameplay are still unresolved.
Despite multiple reports from the community, key mechanics such as tenant protests, unregistered maintenance events (stuck at 0/1), incorrect rent prices, and game-breaking save issues persist. Many of us have followed the intended gameplay steps — making improvements, fulfilling promises, resolving issues — only to be punished by rating drops and bugged systems.
We deserve clear communication and real fixes. Selling premium content with such fundamental flaws, and leaving them unaddressed for over 18 months, shows an alarming lack of respect for your players.
Please treat this with the seriousness it deserves and provide a proper update or roadmap for when these issues will be fixed.
