Hello Everyone,
I had just started to create a whole new game and love making my own lots for all my worlds. Yet, from time to time, I like to include some other player's lot creations for my game and have specifically looked to find lots that are not made with MOO or mods/cc by using the hashtags and selecting not to include mods/cc. When I found lots that offer this, I also made sure they only use the DLC Packs/Kits I have purchased. If I don't have the ones they use, I will move on. The ones I liked, I would put them into my library to possibly use later on after I have collected a few first. This has been working well until these recent fixes and new market place installed in our games.
When I put some of the other player's lot creations into my game, I am now getting a message saying some of the content used on those lots I don't own and ask if I would like to continue to install the lot in my game. Yet, the DLC that is showing up as being used, I have. So, to be safe, I've been declining to use those lots that mention this and deleted them from my library. Thankfully, this was not the case with every lot I downloaded for my game to try out.
When I created my own lots in the past, I would test them on another lot in another world to make sure all works well. And all was fine... until today with the latest fix, that all changed.
What I am now discovering is when I use my own lots created and put them on any lot in any of my worlds it states that some content that was used on this lot is a pack I do not own and ask if I wish to continue. How can this be so when I have all the packs. I created those lots myself?!
So, I repaired my game and removed all cache files and tried again. I still receive the same messages for all of my lots and the other lots I am using that were working perfectly well days before. And again, I don't use Mods/CC. I am no longer using MOO in my game nor any cheats other than debug mode items from time to time.
I then went through my game to ensure every pack I purchased is showing as installed, which it is. I then click on each DLC pack/Kit in the game individually to see if the items are there and they show up. So I know I am NOT missing any DLC I purchased.
I then tried to put one of my lots into the game despite the warning to see what happens. Nothing is missing. Everything is still in place. So, I don't know why the game is insisting my DLC/DLC content is not there.
What makes for an interesting twist to make things more complicated is yesterday, I took only one house from another player that I got from the Gallery that mentioned it supposedly had some content used that I didn't have, which showed contrary to the case, as it showed every pack I had, and put it onto a lot for me to redecorate as I saw fit for my personal game. I then saved it and then tested it on a different lot. That message no longer showed anything was missing. But now today.... it is saying once more that there is DLC missing and do I wish to continue to use this lot.
My concern now is that my game is completely broken. If the game reads stuff is missing from that lot it could cause other bug issues by using such lots in my game. So now, I can't build or continue creating my worlds, I can't play on my lots created, as I don't want to start a game only to have it become buggy like my last game was, forcing me to start from scratch.
At this rate my game is unplayable. HELP!

When I ignore the warning it doesn't even download the lots, it just spits me back out to neighborhood view. The house is mine, I own all the content, its all active, and I cannot download it. top it off with the original house in game no longer lets me play it. I moved the family into an empty lot so I could still play the family and I get the same error. So it not only jacked up my house, it jacked up my family.

Hi Thankful0212, it sounds like you might have some corruption in addition to the content not installed issue. In order to troubleshoot and define what is happening in your game it might be best to start with a fresh game folder and a new save, so you can test things.
Before you do anything else, duplicate the folder named The Sims 4. It will probably say something like The Sims 4 Copy. Slide that onto your desktop for safety reasons.
To make a fresh game folder, rename your current game folder in documents by putting the word OLD in front of The Sims 4, ie OLD The Sims 4. Once that folder is renamed, when you start up your game the next time, it will automatically create a new The Sims 4 folder in documents, with everything brand new like you just started the game today.
You will be taken to CAS to create your first sim of the new save. Choose any sim you want and dress them up. Then save them. You will be taken to a screen to choose the season you want to start with in the new save. I recommend summer. Then choose a world to play in that has inexpensive lots.
(The new game you open with be all EA sims and lots, with none of your previous sims or lots. All that is still in the folder you named OLD The Sims 4. It is safe. You can return to the previous game later by naming the new game TEST The Sims 4 and then removing the word OLD from the previous game folder.)
Place your sim in any lot with an existing inexpensive home. You will not have any mods in this new game because the game will have inserted a new Mods folder with nothing in it. That is good, because when troubleshooting, it is best to have no mods in the game.
Do a few things with the new sim to make sure the game is not acting strange. Then save and quit the game.
Reopen the game and place one of your other existing lots from your personal gallery or library into an empty lot in one of the new worlds. Does it still show the content not installed popup, but then it does finish placement on the empty lot? Or does it place with no pop up at all?
If that lot is successfully placed, with or without a pop up, then try the lot you had problems with before. If the problem lot does NOT place successfully, but other lots do place successfully, then the problem lot is corrupted and cannot be used anymore.
If the problem lot can be successfully placed in the new game, then save and place a fresh copy of the lot into your personal gallery or library. (Use that new lot for further testing in your previous game.) Successful placement of the problem lot in the new game indicates your previous game probably has a corrupted save file. You can try doing a "save as" of that corrupted save to see if that corrects the issue, or you can try going to a previous version of the corrupted save file in the loading window after choosing the Load option instead of resume, and then using the button available for that purpose.
Doing this preliminary troubleshooting will give you a better understanding of what is happening in your game, and narrow the issue so you know whether it is actually the content missing issue or a corruption issue. And that, in turn, will give you a better option for fixing what went wrong. It is well worth your time to troubleshoot. :)
