Same issue here. Several players that I have been following for a long time, who have many creations in their acount appear as anonymous and with an empty profile.
sirhc59 did you ask them how they have their privacy settings set ? It really all depends on that now.
I will ask for confirmation but at least one of them participates just like me in challenges, so she did not put her profile in private

yeah that it shows in shared creations seems odd to me but the follower thing should be due to privacy settings.
