Is this what you are seeing: Time/Sim freezes while environment still moves | EA Forums - 11885395 or is the clock ticking on ?

No; my sims do not move. Everything is frozen including interactions. The only thing that responds is my cursor icon, and I am able to move my cursor around. Other than that, it's all frozen. The only way I know that I opened the esc menu is when my cursor changes from the normal cursor to the click cursor.

Do the trees and background objects still move though ?
The important thing is the clock though. It does sounds like the same as the other thread. You can't do anything, Sims are frozen but you will still notice some movement in the back.

Just to elaborate for emphasis, other than me being able to move the cursor and the cursor responding if the esc menu is open (a menu I can't see), it is a freeze in the truest sense in the word. Sims are frozen, camera is frozen, time is frozen (at least as it appears to me; I can't recall if there are audio cues but absolutely no visual cues other than the cursor)
