I'm experiencing the same issue with the task queue spamming up seemingly infinite tasks, sometimes it's the same task over and over like trying to chat to someone. It seems like it's happening when my sim is sitting in a chair(Arrrmed Dining Chair) fitted to a desk(WOODen desk classical) with a pc(All-in-One Powerfull PC). I don't yet know if it's the specefic furniture or something, but very often the task spam prevent the sim from doing anything untill I save and reload.
Trying to add tasks manually when it's happening does seem to place the manual tasks ahead of the autonomously generated task spam, but the sim doesn't do them and the manual tasks, aswell as the autonomous generated tasks, cannot be canceled.
I was having this issue as well, the chat spamming and freezing the sim. I was using a different arm chair and a different desk, but the same computer, the All-in-One PC. I was using a laptop, but I got that free with a career, so I decided to put it in the house. I did not have the problem until I put that PC into the house.
I have since replaced the All-in-One PC with the Standard Portable Computer and the issue has stopped. I have three Portable Computers throughout the house and none of them has produced the issue, so it may be linked the the All-in-One PC.
