Game Is Spamming Autonomous empty task bubbles

I am playing on PC, my sim is a young adult and I have no mods installed. I just downloaded the sims for the first time.

My game crashes after my sims get locked into a task queue that I didn't set. The most recent one happened when I had an young adult sim at home. My sim stops in her tracks, completely frozen and I hear the task selection sound non stop, as if i had been spamming it. My sim's task bar was extending, but there were no task bubbles actually in that panel so it was just empty. After this my game completely froze. I am never able to exit out of the game or alt F4. I had to restart my computer in order for the game to actually close the application. This happens constantly. Please help.
