I've encountered a bug in the game. It concerns the drama club, which is an extracurricular activity for a Sim who is a child/teenager. In my case, I'm playing as a teenager. Of course, I realize that as a child, a Sim can't advance at a certain point. However, this issue concerns a teenager. My acting skill level is already at level 10, so I'm already at level 2. My Sim practices acting in front of a mirror every day. Additionally, the progress bar is stuck at "great" and is marked in gold as ready for advancement. There have been reports of this issue on the forums for six years now. I think it should be looked into, as this career is quite old, and the bug persists.
