[GRO] Mental Fog After one Day of Hard Work

My sim has the responsible trait, so when they go to work they work hard. Everyday they return with the mental fog buff. I have taken vacation, exercised, had the moodlet go away and the next day it is back. Playing on PS5.

I've been noticing this happening to me on a number of different sims lately. None have the responsible or overachiever traits, they get mental fog and burnouts so often, like every day or every other day, despite making them relax and have fun. One doesn't even have a job. Lol. I am getting tired of having to stop everything just to make them relax or go on vacation,  only to have it come right back.

PS. They don't even have to do anything stressful to get it, either. My one Sim got the mental fog debuff, we went on vacation, and it went away, but soon as she came home and went to bed, boom, next morning mental fog was back and she didn't even do anything!!!!

Edit: I'm on xbox series x

  • I have noticed this happening on one of my Sims as well. They would take bath soaks, exercise, write, paint etc., and in two days, sometimes already next day, the Sim experiences mental fog again. It's not even "work hard" but on "normal", and goes to work with all positive moodlets.

I’m having the same issue. It’s making gameplay pretty frustrating. Even after just one day of working hard this happens. I used to only have my sims work hard and it still took several days to get burnout. This is the worst feature in the game and I wish you could just turn it off because it’s not making the game more fun. Just stressful.

  • The only time I have had this happen is when I have a sim in a career that totally goes against who they are and what they want to do. I would send her to work fully happy and everything but she hated the job and wanted to do other things with her life. I was only trying to get her an aspiration reward and then I was going to have her quit the job and do something she loved. Everything happened fast and it was torture for her and me in getting the aspiration done because she got the mental fog, burn out, and an early midlife crisis very quickly. When I finally changed her to a job more suited to her she was fine and there were no more problems.

I wanted to share this because when I saw this post I thought maybe you are having the same problem with your sim and they really just hate the job that you are making them do. While we do control things our sims do, they still have a mind of their own and my experience with this taught me that they can be VERY willful and stubborn. Most sims don't seem to care much, but there are a few that were like this for me and it only ended when I let them do what made them happy.

  • EA, pleaaaase make this an option thing. It gets fastly annoying when the sim just resolved the mental fog, to get the same moodlet the next day!
