This was an older bug that was fixed a long time ago, but it seems to be back in the game. My Sim created a baking club and went to bake at another club member's house. The Sim was kicked out of the house while doing this club activity. According to the archive text from the previous fix:
Sims will no longer be kicked out of a lot for performing inappropriate but club approved behaviors. They may still get yelled at for the infraction, but should no longer be kicked from the lot.
