In the police station, if a Sim in the detective career opens the door to the last cell the Sim will stand off to the side instead of in front of the cell.

No. The Sim opens the correct door. The played detective doesn't open the door from the inside. The only door affected is the door close to the wall.This is from the original report for this. It looks like the police man is standing in front of the middle one but opens the last one.
