I have a teen who is a video game streamer. She got the work from home task to livestream with a friend. I chose the livestream farming with friends with a friend from the career menu. The livestream went all the way to the end and showed how many followers she gained. However, it did not check off the work task. I tried 3 times, twice at the home lot and once at the library in Magnolia Promenade.
