Do you have any LastException/LastCrash files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?
- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please upload the files to either googleDrive or oneDrive and post the link here (make sure it's public)
Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.

If you have time for some testing, could you test the following scenarios:
- Try another part time career to see if you get the same issue
- Leave the career and take the job again to see if that fixes the issue.
Just got done play testing:
- tested with a new save with the same sim and same circumstances
- started with night shift lifeguard position, bug was produced
- quit lifeguard career and took the part time fishing position, with no issue requesting vacation day
- returned to lifeguard career with the morning shift, bug reproduced
