Items disappear when placing in build mode

I just purchased Dream Home Decorator and my build mode almost unusable. I can't paint walls without an issue (including auto paint using shift on my pc), I can't delete objects with without an issue and I can't place objects without an issue. And this is not exclusive to builds within the new career. This is every. single. build. To say I am irritated and disappointed is an understatement. 

This has happened on multiple lots while playing in two vanilla saves on PC. When I try to place an object from the catalogue or my household inventory, the item will be deselected before I've been able to place the item. 

This happened on the lots Old Torget House in Nordhaven and The Cozy Corner House in Chestnut Ridge. This doesn't happen with every item placed, but at a certain point,  items start disappearing. If I place it very quickly before it disappears, it's fine, but if I am too slow, it deselects before I've had time to place it. 

If I move an object from the lot, it will go into my inventory if I am too slow to place it. The more this happens, the quicker the time between selection and deselection is. 

I'm playing with most packs except Enchanted by Nature, Star Wars and some of the kits. This only started happening after the latest patch. I've had the issue with mailboxes and infant cribs from the catalogue and crafted chairs from the household inventory. 

I had this the other day, too. I hadn't had it happen for a long time, so was surprised to see it again. This happened when I tried to place a new crib. 

Vanilla game, no mods or cc. All packs, except some kits.

is this only happening on a certain save game or also if you start a new one for testing purposes ?

This was happening in one save and so I made another for testing purposes and it happened there too.

It sounds like this issue: Can't make changes to build | EA Forums - 4976886 but that's usually either tied to a save or goes away after reloading.

Will check with EA if they want this merged.

Thank you. I took a look. It might be caused by the same thing but it sounds a little different.

Opened a save that I started yesterday, downloaded a 50x50 lot from the gallery to replace Magnolia Blossom Park and can't place any items from build mode. I can drag the items but not place them. I tried saving the lot and going to manage worlds then back to the lot but the issue persisted. I was trying to place a chess table and chairs but when i click to 'drop' the item it wouldn't work.

Recently purchased Get Famous, Bowling Stuff and Dine Out as a sale bundle and did not experience this issue before this. 

Mods wise: I have wonderful whims, ui cheats, mccc and more coloumns mod - these have been updated to the latest versions. 

I've been experiencing this glitch since my game automatically updated on August 6th, 2025. Occasionally when I select something to move it in build mode, the item disappears and all I can see is the green tiles on the floor when the item should be. I play on a MacBook Air 13''

So every so often in my game (for the last couple months or so, maybe once every three or four times opening the game) my build mode glitches out and items do not place. I can place one of an item, and then cannot place another without changing the tool and then reselecting the item. It also glitches out wallpaper and flooring. This has happened across save files, across lots and lot types, and in my games both with and without mods installed (I have tried troubleshooting without mod)  I have only found one successful way of stopping it and that is to restart the whole game, and it will then work for a while before starting again. The only thing I have noticed it happens much more in build mode from manage worlds rather than in game (but not exclusively)
