After I place one item the next item I select won't place, it flips back to where it was previously, or is carries around by my mouse indefinitely. I found by clicking a different tool across the top like the eyedropper then going back to the select tool it will let me place another item, but only one. Then click on the eyedropper again and back to the select tool, for each item I need to move or place.

I lost my favorite Family household from the Gallery. Hopefully this will be one of the fixes that they will fix.
Has there been any update to this? I am having the exact same issue and it is driving me crazy. Takes forever to edit a lot.

Ah sorry. I was under the impression it happens always on that lot for you.
It randomly happens, so it's hard to recreate.
For the specific lot, it could be different for every person and every save. I gave my building save where it happened more recently.
I don't know what causes it. In the video I attached, I never built on that lot before, and I was building for 47 minutes.
I did look at that report, but this issue isn't the same. There's no way of getting out of it or pressing a tool to then complete the action. You will always have to force quit.
DeeliciousSims tested your save (that lot you said) and have no issues. Placed about an dozen items and was able to leave the lot fine.

This bug was on the old forums with a lot of reports, but I can't find it here.
This sounds similar to this bug, but it's not.
With this bug, you may build for a while and then all of a sudden, your fountain (for example) won't place. No matter what you do, nothing will place. selecting another tool won't fix it.
If you try to save or go to manage worlds, you ALWAYS will get an endless saving/loading screen.
This bug can also occur on a specific lot. The "The Old Salt House" lot in San Myshuno was a problem for me every time I loaded into the lot and tried to build. It would never go through. It happened right away.
This specific lot may not be a problem for everyone. Once, I had the same issue for a lot in Brindleton Bay, but with an update, that lot wasn't having that issue anymore.
I had this happen many of times and I believe it started with the patch before For Rent.

I use CC and Mods, but I can ensure you that's not the issue.
I had this issue yesterday as well and I waited for 10 minutes before force quitting. Video attached below.
I'm having this issue now, after the most recent patch. I removed all Mods and restarted my game fresh and still having the issue every once in a while. I can't pinpoint situations where I see it most.

This has started happening to me since the EBN patch. Sometimes the build tools will simply quit working and items won't place, and I'm not sure why. There doesn't seem to be a consistent trigger, which makes it hard to test removing mods (since I don't know whether the lack of the bug is due to removing mods or just coincidence, and I can't play in any of my saves without mods installed so I'd prefer not to take all my mods out long-term.) But given the number of comments and upvotes here, it really does sound like it's a game issue.
