Jealous trait is too intrusive in friendly interactions

Maybe it’s a bug, maybe it’s a feature, but I’ve been paying with the Jealous trait recently and it’s quite untenable, given that any interaction with Sims triggers the Get Jealous reaction constantly. And I mean CONSTANTLY: any conversation with Sims outside the household are peppered with this autonomous reaction at every action.

I’ve seen threads here about the moodlets, but they seem fine to me. It’s the constant interruption to all conversations that irks me. It would be fun to play this trait, if it wasn’t so overpowering — maybe it should have a cooldown or only be triggered by romantic interactions? Or maybe by interactions like Hug or Share Secret, since they seem to indicate intimacy?

Or perhaps it’s working as intended and this report says more about me than about The Sims 4.
