[JTB] Several Missions: NPCs don't board the Millennium Falcon/X-Wing

This is what happens when i try - it does give the fly mission option. Idk if this is supposed to say something different, but i can explore and the ship takes off - i can also scan that's why its greyed out.  When I click on the mission I get 

him hanging out outside the plane. Droid used to be in the plane, but it just wants to hang out too now. Once the mission icon is gone - approx 5 seconds - he always runs off. 

Is that what happens to everyone else?

I was having this issue, came across this thread and saw that it still wasn't "solved." I saved/exited my game, relaunched, and immediately attempted to get on the x-wing for the Daring Rescue mission. The  other Resistance members gathered around, and eventually I flew off (they did not board).

edit: Looks like Vi boarded.

The old "did you turn it off and then turn it back on again" trick did it for me! Good luck!

Will we ever get a patch to fix this issue?

what i did:

• add npc vi into grp.
• go near the x wing ladder toward the pilot seat.
• right after start the mission, there will be 2 auto tasks, the 2nd task "wait", when it active, save game.
• exit to menu, resume game.
• vi now should join into the ship, mission progress good now.

This sort of worked for me too. I saved, went to Manage Worlds, selected my Sim that was in Batuu amongst the household members, spammed Fly Mission and he disappeared and so did Vi, but the X wing just stayed there with my robot on it BUT the quest updated. Unfortunately I cannot find Vi now so, there's another issue.

Hello, I found a workaround for the Daring Rescue mission for the resistance. Since Vi kept trying to talk to my sim while boarding i shift clicked on VI and clicked destroy object. that got her out of the way and my sim successfully went on the mission. then you just have to reload the into the world for her to show back up again. did this October of 2025.

NPCs will board the X-Wing as needed for quests like "A Daring Rescue" Resistance mission including tasks like "Fly Rescue Mission in X-wing".

Fixed in Patch 1.119.109/2.23
