Lag for menu to show up when clicking on objects

Playing on PC, have the same issue when clicking fridge or stove. 

I have the same problems with the frige, the kitchen and the computer

I've tried to find one that doesn't say solved on this topic and I haven't managed to find one. I have all packs, game up-to-date. 

I'm finding now that I have a ton of packs, all adding food to the food menu, the game is unbearably lagging. So much so, that when it comes to the family recipes I have to wait a good 30 seconds to a minute to decide what food to cook. I didn't notice it so much before Hobbies and Businesses because I just clicked the stove and selected out of like 10 available dishes. Now though, if I want to make a family recipe, I have to open up the thing with allllll the meals. That takes forever. 

Perhaps there's a way to improve this. I see when we select a recipe for family stuff, it give the option of sweets, meals, etc. What if this option was given instantly:

Click create family recipe
choose from drop-down type of food: lactose intolerant, vegetarian, meat, seafood, sweet
load up the food that meets the criteria. 

Same could happen when clicking the fridge/stove:
click fridge/stove - click cook - click meal type - open only that menu

This does not solve the hang when opening the cooking options, but it is a workaround- I have a mod that limits the main cooking menu to a generic list of recipes. You can still access all recipes using the stove itself.

do you know if it limits it for family recipes too? Because that's an issue in my game at the moment

Not only does it lag but it full on freezes up. The complete freeze/lock happens pretty rarely though.

Whenever I click on the fridge, there's an unusually long wait time for the options on the fridge; cook, open, cook dinner, etc. to appear. Happens every time.
