The memorial portraits from the Life and Death Expansion Pack appear to be bugged as they no longer generate an image of a deceased sim, instead showing a blank white image.

I got a grey graduation photo when my sims graduated uni. But it is not full colour like the white in the thread, but more like static grey vertical lines.
I don't have L&D and I play on PC with no mods.
