The memorial portraits from the Life and Death Expansion Pack appear to be bugged as they no longer generate an image of a deceased sim, instead showing a blank white image.

So I asked this before and the explanation I got was wrong.
The workaround actually works.
First, you have to turn on the DirectX9 option in the settings.
Then, Exit the game.
For DirectX9 to actually work you HAVE to use separate DirectX9 launcher!
It's in Game\Bin folder and called TS4_DX9_x64.exe
I guess you can also launch TS4_DX9_x64.exe through whatever EA/Steam/etc. launcher you're using, but it's simpler this way.
I just tested this in my ongoing save and it does appear to work - I was able to get two memorial photos of sims that died in game a few weeks ago and they worked perfectly. Have not tried the graduation photo but I am hopeful. Thanks for this workaround!
