This and buying climbing gear autonomously on the computer (and they aren't adventurous or athletic sims) have been happening for months. Non-modded or modded, it doesn't matter. Tonight's session alone, one of my sims, who is already married, has tried to start a wedding event three separate times. I've seen some discussion in a few reddit threads about similar events in others' games.
While typing this addendum, six months later, an already married sim has tried to start a wedding even three times. Still an issue.
