[LDSP] No washing machine on lot although there is

I first noticed it a couple of weeks ago in another house, but I can no longer do laundry in my machine. When I click on a laundry basket or pile, it says that there is no machine.

The washing machine always has the green light on, and I can't interact with it at all. The machine is fully upgraded.

Washing machines and driers just stop working randomly but washing in your household still piles up even if you delete them and the washing baskets.

Also did you test this on both a Mac and a PC ?

I've had this issue for the LONGEST time. Washing machine becomes 'unavailable' after 1 or 2 washes. The only way to fix it is to sell it and buy a new one. Then it happens again 2 washes later.
I have tried:
resetting the machine and laundry baskets
buying new laundry baskets
upgrading and not upgrading
moving them away from the walls/possible obstructions
switching households and moving house
new saves
putting it in the household inventory and back again
removing all mods and starting a new vanilla game (this began long before I installed mods)
reinstalling the whole game
repairing the game
