[MAC] Endless loading/Freezing (Camera tilting)

My game started to have endless loading screens. First with certain lots, but it spread like wildfire in the save and soon I couldn't acces most lots&households. (it was a huge save)

I have no mods. I tried several times to rebuild in new saves -all failed after some time.

Finally I decided I would play 1 family, build them 1 home and not touch anything else. After 7 ' in game' days the game crashed again:  endless loading screen for the family/household :/

So at this point I'm not sure what to do to make the game playable...!

Can someone point me in the right direction? I've looked through the forum but I can't seem to find an answer.

Last time I updated I had some programs that didn't work for a while, so I've stopped updating. I will do it now and check the game!

Not all people can or want to use other versions of macOS. Some people are using Big Sur for example and they can't upgrade.

The game should work, the computer meets the requirements.

Correct which is why I asked if there is a specific reason the OP is running Monterey however my reply is addressed just to the OP who has an M1 Pro which can run the current version of macOS, Sequoia.

In an ideal world yes of course however improvements in OSs and further support often facilitate an improved experience. A 2012 MacBook Air meets the requirements to run the game but the gaming experience on such a machine is dreadful, to the point of not being able to run properly. There are improvements to Metal that Apple have made which are reflected in later versions of macOS. Not all tech support and advice is, and can be, as simple as you're stating.

I understand. I see now it was just clarification question, not 'judging' one. I'm a little sensitive here because people many times say: 'just update to Sequoia'. Well, give me new Mac that can do that and maybe I will -_-

However, I can't agree that gaming experience is dreadful on older machines. It's not best idea to play on them on maxed settings but otherwise it works fine (I enjoy it and prefer that than not playing at all).

BTW: with each macOS updates new things are introduced (not necessarily better ones). I was perfectly happy on Mojave and regret going Big Sur. I know it's newer, it's suppose to be better but in terms of funcionality it just goes down.

    It is fixed!! Thanks!!

I updated, tested the game. I tried to go to all the broken lots and saves. And it works perfectly again! :)  So the old Mac system was the problem.

I'm super glad the game is fixed. I've been sick for a while,  playing sims keeps away the headaches and it gives me a creative outlet. Thanks Crinrict and Bluebellflora!!

Soanad, I agree the game should be running fine on older systems too. If you upgrade Mac a lot changes, I've had programs break because of it, sometimes files are not compatible anymore... Most of my family never upgrades for this reason actually.  And that is if you can upgrade of course.

I used to love updates but not anymore. Updates usually made things better but recently that's not the case. I can't upgrade but that's fine, I don't have the issue you reported :) I'm glad it worked out for you!

AlyTortall Great! Sometimes it isn't that an older OS is the problem but rather that the OS has corrupted files, broken links and other errors. Simply reinstalling the current OS over the top of the existing installation would fix it.

Opinions on whether new things that are introduced in OSs are better or not is simply subjective and how they would influence the way you use your machine and what you use it for. The jump from Mojave to Big Sur was massive, not least because Apple dropped all support for 32-bit apps, and not one that should have been taken lightly by users. I still have an older Intel machine running Mojave specifically for that reason. If you're unhappy using Big Sur, and you have a backup of your Mac, you can simply reformat and reinstall Mojave by starting up in recovery mode.

I know how to make reinstall of system, thank you. Ah, I'm still missing 32-bit apps that were not upgraded!
