I play rotationally and for the past several months my married couples will autonomously be divorced when I check them. Their relationship status is also glitched. They normally have high romance and friendship bars, but are listed as divorced. I do use neighborhood stories, but there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off divorces.
I don't and never have used mods.
