[MWS] [LD] Guests not wearing formal/specified attire at wedding/funeral

When choosing wedding attire for guests, it only gives two options: Boho or Polished. There should be more options, and the ability to choose between Everyday, Formal, Party, etc.

If no option is chosen, Sims are supposed to come in their formalwear, but instead they come in randomly generated outfits.

At the least, please fix so Sims arrive in their formalwear.

My sims are doing this too. None of the guests are turning up in their formal wear when the attire is unticked when creating the wedding event. Not only that but they’re turning up in randomly generated outfits. I’ve got sims turning up in bath robes, the outfits that sims wear when they.’re “living” in the park, winter fest outfits etc. I’ve been using the small talk interaction to change them all to formal but by the time I’ve done that the wedding is almost over! I’ve got no cc or mods installed and I’m a pc player.

  • This happens to me if I choose customized wedding event. If I choose the other option to Plan Wedding Event, the guests show up in the formal wear that is in their inventory. If I choose customized and don't select any type of outfit or if I select polished, they show up in random outfits, including costumes. The problem with choosing Plan Wedding Event is that I do not have options on the arch to tell guests to sit or throw rice or do anything.

This wedding is just starting. I changed the bride and groom and his parents already since they are all in the same household but they also came in goofy outfits. It is a heatwave day and you will see the one in the knit cap in the foreground, a witch outfit and the one that looks disguised is not famous at all.  These are played families as well so none of these guests have these outfits in their inventory of outfits.

And more guests arriving. I have no mods or CC in my game and I play on PC.

  • I thought I was going crazy! I'm having this same issue. I'm currently working on a mod that makes the special guests (officiant, ring bearer, etc...) all wear the same outfits by default and I noticed it wasn't working as it should. I then ran tests in vanilla and see that this is a bug.

Regardless, I've made a temporary fix (mod) if anyone wants it for their custom weddings. All guest will actually show up in formal wear. Let me know if it's something you'd like.

As for the funeral, I already made a mod on CurseForge called Better Funerals. It takes it a step further by actually making guests wear black to the funeral.

  • The wedding event was off to a bad start when at the house it was sunny but when we got to the venue IT WAS RAINING HARD. I had to turn off rain from the environmental options ugh.

Then everyone changed into these costumes instead of FORMAL:

    • CROW
    • WINTERFEST
    • PAINTER
    • MASCOT
    • HOSPITAL GOWN
    • WITCH

There was more but I was too angry I exited to main menu and just cancelled it upon reload >_>

  • I'm having the same issue.  All of my wedding guests are showing up in costumes.

  • I also have this issue. I took off all mods and tried and it happened again where the guests randomly generate attire in the planned wedding event. I have to manually ask guests to change into formal attire.
